Joe Makoid, President, is a 20-year technology industry veteran. In 1987, he co-founded Bus-Tech, the industry's largest supplier of interconnect controllers and was instrumental in selling the company to Network Systems Corp. In addition, Joe founded Data Center Direct in 1999 and expanded the scope to include the Management Services Provider model. Data Center Direct was acquired by Safeguard in 2000 to provide the foundation for Safeguard Global Services. Prior to joining Devon IT, Joe was Executive Vice President, Business Development for Tarantella.
Stephane Verdy, CTO, has 10 years experience in information technology. Prior to joining Devon IT to lead product development, Stephane held several positions in the product development, marketing, business development and sales organizations at Tarantella. At Tarantella, he was instrumental in designing and selling secure access and server based computing solutions to some of the world's largest financial companies. Prior to Tarantella, Stephane worked as a consultant and also taught as professor of computer science at the Francisco Marroquin University in Guatemala. Stephane holds a Masters of Computer Science from the University of Nancy, France.
William Horrocks, Chief Operating Officer is former Comcast Executive who held positions in product management, IT, telecommunications, planning and business development. While at Comcast he launched one of the first integrated voice, video and data networks in the industry. Prior to Devon, Bill co-founded Home Central, an Internet -based monitoring and automation platform for homes and small businesses.
Paul Mancini, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, has 15 years experience marketing innovative solutions to companies that use information technology as a fundamental part of their business strategy. Paul led marketing efforts at emerging technology companies such as eCal, Emax and EcomXML as well as helping establish systems integration and consulting businesses within companies such as GE and Lockheed Martin. Paul also founded Atwood Marketing, a consultancy focused on supporting early-stage and emerging companies that need marketing, communications, public relations, branding, product marketing, and investor relations. Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University.
Wayne Flaggs, Executive Vice President, Business Development, has had 33 years of sales and marketing experience with IBM prior to joining Devon IT. He was the Vice President of Worldwide Sales for both their System x business and their blades business. He has also been responsible for running IBM's workstation business, the sales operations organization in the PC group, as well as the Americas sales team for Unix servers. He also helped to establish IBM's web strategy as IBM transitioned to become an e-business. Wayne holds a Computer Science BS degree from MIT.
Robert Chrisfield, Vice President of Strategic Alliances. Bob brings broad experience in business development and management, as well as in creating, building and managing technology and products, and is charged with developing Devon IT's strategic corporate initiatives, including M&A, alliances, and key business relationships. Prior to joining DevonIT, Bob spent 28 of his 37 years with IBM in executive and technical management positions. Most recently as Director of Technical Alliances for IBM's System and Technology Group (STG) he was responsible for initiating and managing the unit's strategic alliances and M&A activities, and as Director of OEM he launched STG's OEM business, overseeing its rapid growth to $225M in revenue. He holds a bachelor's of science degree in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has completed executive MBA programs with Northeastern University and RPI.
Joe Aloia, Vice President, Product Development, has 25 years of technology and product experience. In 2000, he co-founded Tybio, an e-business consulting firm specializing in Web Services, as CTO and Executive Vice President of Product Development. After being acquired by FullTilt Solutions, Joe moved on to become Chief Product Architect for Fiberlink Communications, designing and managing the development of their next generation remote access/policy enforcement product. Prior to 2000, he consulted to many Fortune 500 companies in the areas of software and product development. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Ursinus College.
